Splitting creates new PDFs from the page positions you select. Those positions are counted from the first physical page, starting at 1; a printed chapter number or Roman-numeral preface may not match the position shown by the tool.
For the three-page practice packet, the cover is position 1 and the invoices are positions 2–3. The range 2-3 selects both invoices without the cover. Choose multiple outputs when you need separate files, or a single output when you want the selected ranges together.

How to Use
Identify page positions
Open one PDF and count from its first page. Use thumbnails to match each boundary with a heading.
Choose a split mode
For a specific excerpt choose page ranges and enter, for example, 2-3. For one file per page choose the every-page mode.
Choose the output grouping
Decide whether the selected ranges should be separate PDFs or combined into one output, then run the split.
Check every result
Open the downloaded files and confirm the first and last page in each. Keep the source until the recipient has the correct excerpt.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are printed page numbers used?
No. Use the page’s position in the input PDF. A cover counts as page 1 even if it has no printed number.
Will splitting by page count meet a megabyte limit?
No. Image-heavy pages can be much larger than text pages. Check the bytes of every output file.
Are bookmarks and forms guaranteed to survive?
No. Splitting rebuilds output documents from selected pages. Check navigation, form fields and signatures separately before relying on them.
